They get here early morning, and spent most of the day to blow insulation and air seal my attic. They did a good and neat job, Will is very nice guy to talk with.

ABT sent two technician to seal any gaps and holes on the top of my light fixtures, ceiling fans, and bathroom exhaust fan. I thought that was it but they also sealed other areas around the attic floor to close any potential gaps such as wall cavities with access openings from the top of the walls in the attic. They replaced some of my old weather stripping. Additionally, they plugged the gaps around any pipes under the sink cabinets. After the sealing was done, they also checked the combustion exhaust on my steam heater in the basement. On the next day, I went up the attic to check and found two holes still unsealed. It was natural for them to miss some holes and gaps when the head light was on. I was able to check the unsealed holes by turning off my flash light in the dark attic and observed some sunlight still passing through the holes from the attic floor: One from gap around my bathroom exhaust fan and another from my built-in cabinet. Overall, they did a very good job for plugging many places in my attic and insulating all my exterior doors. After the air sealing was done, I noticed the thermostat showed 2 to 5 degrees Fahrenheit higher for my interior apartment temperature. For example, before the air sealing, my thermostat showed 60 degrees Fahrenheit while the outside air temperature was about 50 or so. Now, the outside temperature can go lower to 48 or even 45 and my thermostat still shows only 60. I thought my thermostat was broken but it is not.

After having an energy assessment done by Mass Save and finding out that our walls had very little insulation in them, we hired ABT to blow cellulose insulation into the walls of our condo. The experience was great from start to finish. The office staff was friendly and easy to reach when trying to schedule the work. On the day of, the guys arrived on time and got to work immediately. The job took most of the day, especially because we asked them to also blow insulation into one interior wall as well (to try to muffle the noise from the adjacent condo), and they stayed as late as they needed to get the work done. Since they were blowing in from inside our condo (couldn’t be done from the outside because of condo regulations), they took every measure possible to minimize the mess and dust from their work. We had covered our furniture before they arrived, but they added their own coverings and also covered the floors as well. They did a great job patching all the holes and I anticipate that all we’ll need to do before repainting is a bit of sanding (we had expected to have to do some of the hole repairs on our own, so this was great).

The work was done very professionally. ABT hired a 3rd party plastering company to do the skim coat and there were a few spots where the plaster was not applied correctly, but ABT fixed it promptly without argument and the end result is excellent. They do top quality work.
Description of work: Removed existing lath and plaster walls in the front part of our home (on 3 floors). Spayed in foam insulation. Installed new sheetrock and skim coat plaster and painted new walls.
